Seaside’s cuisine is inventive, modern and exuberant

It takes us on a journey across the world, creating new Mediterranean flavours, bearing the mark of the chefs, Tassos Baxarides and his sous-chef Apostolis Chatziaxiaris. Together, they work on old traditional recipes, adding ethnic elements and their own touches to create funky culinary “remixes” in their own personal style.
Combining techniques from different parts of the world with Mediterranean ingredients, they have created an inventive and tempting menu, with dishes that are generous and beautiful presented. Everyone will find their own personal favourite amongst the dishes on offer.
Tassos recommends the seafood pouch, the marinated tuna with guacamole, tomato ratatouille and a bouquet of aromatic herbs, the cheese Fondue with black truffles, or any of the dishes that bring together local ingredients and classic recipes to form impressive gourmet creations. Like the moussaka with shrimp and crab meat, the Santorini tomato rice with basil and chilli, the Santorini split peas with smoked trout mousse, the seafood dakos served with vine leave pesto or the tomato cake with Fresh cheese mousse accompanied by a kaltsouni marinated in caramelized olives.
Don’t miss the generous dish with mussels, shrimp, chopped olives on a barley rusk with vine leave pesto. It’s truly impressive, served on white wax paper in a large platter. Moving on to the main dishes, the lamb shank with white leek sauce is definitely tempting, but, with the sea at your feet, you might be more inclined to indulge in a fine fricassee with fruits of the sea. Make sure to leave some space for dessert though. The Pavlova with strawberries and strawberry sauce is pure evil, much like the Banoffee pie that is considered the restaurant’s trademark. And, if you’re feeling… explosive, try the chocolate fondue with Mexican chilli!
As for the service? Exemplary, both at the beach and in the restaurant, with unpretentious, careful and kind young staff. All this, of course, in a space with soft colours, built-in sofas, woven easy chairs, and world music compose a relaxing summer scenery.
